Customer Review: DeLonghi EW7707CM Oil-filled Radiator Heater
Summary: 5 Stars

Read all the reviews on Amazon and elsewhere. Rejected the DeLonghi radiator with timer b/c of noise concerns. Been using this DeLonghi non-timer radiator for three weeks now to heat my 20 x 12 bedroom while our furnace is out for a remodel. Room has average insulation. Overnight temps have been in the low 40's. Results have been very satisfying. Room heats to a very comfortable temperature on highest power in about 15 minutes and maintains temperature at half power. Get this heater if you want a constant source of heat, not for instant space heating. Issue with the smell of the hot oil is trivial unless you are especially sensitive to smells.

Customer Review: Great heater
Summary: 5 Stars

I own 3 of these. I got one to test out and then added 2 more (one for each bedroom to try to combat high central heating costs). I had them for several weeks only and will update this review if any of them break or I discover something worth mentioning here.

The initial impressions are:

The heater works great. Allow about 1/2 hour to warm up any room bigger than 10x10. My 15x15 bedroom stays warm on Low setting with a thermostat set to 4 with mid-40 degrees outside (this old house has a below average insulation).

The heater is totally silent. In the beginning, one of the 3 heaters made some crackling noise for about an hour after being turned on. I called DeLonghi support (which was good, by the way!) and was told that it's normal and has to do with how the heater was handled during delivery and that I should expect it to stop making these sounds after several uses. It did stop making the sound pretty much that day!

Note, the ComforTemp button gets "stuck" when the heater is hot. So you'll have to wait for the heater to cool off to depress it.

It would be nice if the heater was more portable. While it has wheels to roll from room to room on the same floor, if you plan to carry it between floors while it's still hot, don't even try. In general, it's not very portable between floors as it has only 1 side handle and it's quite heavy.

The ultimate question is: would I buy it again? Based on my experience with this heater so far I would say YES without hesitating.

Customer Review: Quality heater, but not for large areas.
Summary: 4 Stars

I just got this heater, so I've not used it that much, but it seems to really only be effective in my bedroom if I close the door and leave it on for an hour on the highest setting because the room is small-ish. My apartment's livingroom/kitchen's entire wall is single layer glass...and cold radiates in REALLY easily, so it's hard to keep warm. I got this heater because my apartment only has really cruddy old electric wall heaters that cost a fortune to run. I'm hoping this unit will be good enough to get me through my first Portland, Oregon winter...but...we'll see. It does seem to be a really good quality product though, very well made.

Customer Review: Good oil heater. Bad packing.
Summary: 3 Stars

If you like oil heaters, and don't need or like the noisy timers some have, this is the one to get. Personally, I find the "comfort-temp" feature gimmicky. Is it really so hard to figure out a thermostat? And the preset "comfort-temp" temperature is too warm for me anyway. Must have been close to 80 degrees.

Unfortunately, I can't recommend that you buy this from Amazon, as the packing is terrible. The first one showed up horribly bent and broken. The second came right away (customer service was great as always), but packed the same way. Amazingly it wasn't broken.

Very good oil heater. But buy it locally.

4 stars for the heater, 1 star for shipping. If they took away the comfort temp parts, which would make it slightly cheaper, I'd give it 5 stars.

Customer Review: DeLonghi radiator works fine
Summary: 4 Stars

This heater was purchased for the heating season, because we will be augmenting our oil-fired boiler by keeping the thermostat lower and spot-heating rooms that we are working in. We chose this for the kitchen, and so far it is working well. It doesn't heat up fast, but the heat lingers after you turn it off, and we felt good about the safety devices built into the unit. So far, it is a good addition, but we will know more about its effectiveness during January, when things get really cold!
