Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of DeLonghi EW7707CM Oil-filled Radiator with ComforTemp Technology

Customer Review: Excellent Heater
Summary: 5 Stars

After waffling on getting a space heater, I finally found this one. Another reviewer mentioned that the heater has slots that allow the heated air to come out from the sides as well as from the top and that he was returning a more expensive model - that did it for me! I ordered this one on Wednesday, received it on Thursday, and it's doing a great job of keeping the chill off the living room in the evening. Considering that we had a chill factor of 4 degrees yesterday, that's pretty good! Looks good, it's very quiet (just a couple of pops as it warms up), and it puts out enough heat to be a welcome place to warm your hands after shoveling snow.

Right now I'm waiting to see the impact on the electric bill, but if it's as reasonable as others report I'm going to get another one for the bedroom. Oh, and if you're concerned about an odor when it first runs, don't be. Although the instructions mention there may be some odor, mine is completely odorless - no problems at all, and I'm pretty fussy.

Customer Review: Cozy warm
Summary: 5 Stars

I was smart enough to snatch up 2 of these at a great price. I'm heating my home for pennies a day. They work great! They're safe to the touch and really spread the warmth across the entire house!

Customer Review: Works perfectly well, zero complaints!
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought the DeLonghi Oil-filled Radiator with ComforTemp, the DeLonghi Micathermic flat panel model, and the Oil-filled Radiator without ComfortTemp. All of them work GREAT.

I have each one in a section of my @1800sq.ft.house, so that I can heat just the rooms that we are using, instead of turning on central gas heat.
The ComforTemp model heats up our entire great room/family room/dining room and kitchen, which is one big open space with hardwood floors and gets chilly.

The Micathermic model I use to warm up the hallway, bathroom, and kids' bedrooms, especially at night (on a low setting).

The non-ComforTemp model I use to warm up the master bedroom and bathroom.

They all do a fantastic job. Our house is warm, cozy, quiet and comfortable...MUCH more so that when we used the gas forced air central heating, which is incredibly loud, drafty, too hot and dry when it's on, and too cold when it's not.

There were a bunch of comments about the smell of the heaters when new. Well, there was a bit of smell on the first day using the heaters, but it's totally gone now, and it was never really that bad.

There were a bunch of negative comments about the heaters being noisy. Well, if the heater is really cold it does make a few popping noises when it starts heating up (which go away once it's warm) and there is a quiet clicking noise from the thermostat when the heater turns on and off. Seriously, anyone who is bothered by those tiny noises needs to get off the crack already. They are MINOR. It is unreasonable to expect perfect silence, although that's what you get 99% of the time with all three of these heaters.

Honestly, I couldn't be more pleased. I love these heaters and they were a great investment. I have already seen a drop in our utility bills, though our house is warmer and cozier than it was before.

I most highly recommend DeLonghi oil-filled radiators, as well as the micathermic flat panel.

Customer Review: Great Heater
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought two of these years ago and am glad to get two more now. They are great for safe, even heat in rooms when I set the house on the cold side to conserve energy. The old ones are still working great too.

Customer Review: Reliable for a year so far
Summary: 5 Stars

I live in the foggy city where temperatures are consistently low. I've been using this pretty much every day for a full year, so my opinion is based on heavy and frequent use of this radiator. I have nothing but positive things to say.

- It is space friendly, as it is somewhat compact.
- It is durable. I've kicked it around a bit, it doesn't tip very easily and is made of strong plastic and metal. It has never broken down despite my clumsiness knocking into it or knocking it into my furniture.
It is oxygen friendly. Unlike the two or three fan-based heaters I've had over the last 5 years, this does not suck the oxygen out of the room. My fan-based heaters left me warm but suffocating, and this does not.
- It is safe. I've accidently left it on walking out the door, and it has never shorted or burned anything except my sense of responsibility. I can't say its impossible, but within reasonable use my experience with it is that you'd probably have to place a box of tinder on it to actually get something to catch fire. The design is quite sensible, as the base is a little larger than the actual heated tower, discouraging you from accidently putting the radiator close to debris.
- As for heating power, here is a reference point: I use this in my bedroom with hardwood floors and drywall walls. The room is about 15 feet by 15 feet, and this little guy heats the room up in 5 to 10 minutes on the medium setting. I've never found it necessary to go any higher than medium.

This is a wonderfully priced solid radiator.
