Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of DeLonghi FK8 Deep Fryer Replacement Filters for model D895

Customer Review: Good, but ...
Summary: 3 Stars

A great little fryer. However, for small amounts. Even a large onion is not totally emersed in the oil (not a good thing when cooking a blooming onion). And cooking time is longer due to the tilt design of the interior. I like it for small entrees (eg, beaded fish for 1 or 2 people, fried potatoes, etc). But, I would not buy again, due to the limited capacity. Easy clean-up!

Customer Review: Great quality
Summary: 5 Stars

Just like any other deep-fryer it gets the job done - temperature control is electronic so it takes the guesswork out of the way.
The main advantage of this fryer - requires way less oil than other deep-fryers.
It is also fairly easy to clean and can filter the oil to use again later.

Customer Review: Great Product
Summary: 5 Stars

Excellent fryer. I have owned DeLonghe roto fryers for years and find them to be an excellent fryer. The fact is, that I have two on hand for use of frying different foods at the same time. I highly recommend this product, it's quality, ease of use, and results it acheives is outstanding.

Customer Review: If it's defective, you will be dealing with customer service hell.
Summary: 1 Stars

We purchased this fryer and we were so pleased with its performance and features. The food fried up so nice and crisp and used very little oil. The unti is easy to clean and has many thoughtful features -- drain hose, the lid removes for easy cleaning. But then the problems started, after only 4 months of use. The timer stopped working -- but we figured fine, we could use it without it, but then the power would go off, right in the middle of frying. Amazon referred us to the DeLonghi, they referred us to their "authorized" service center. That center had the machine for two months, they claimed it was fixed. Brought it home, same problem. Called DeLonghi, they said it has to go back to their service center. Did that. Same problem. So now I have been dealing with their customer service, and they keep referring me back to the service center. Meanwhile, the service center is getting very surly. Each time, they take weeks to get back to me, they insist it's working fine, we try it out and sure enough, the same problem returns. It has been 7 months, my request that DeLonghi send me another fryer is that it has to go back to the service center first. Even though I have done that three times already. No one that I have talked to, starting with Amazon, will stand behind this product. I will never buy a DeLonghi product after this experience.

Customer Review: Good, not perfect
Summary: 4 Stars

I bought this to replace my very old DeLonghi fryer that still works but just has so much built up oil residue the lid won't close. I did a lot of reading and was skeptical about a few features of this fryer but decided to give it a go. I like the style and features. I used to be in food service for many years and never once did I ever come across a comercial fryer that the food leaves the oil and re-enters (the rotation feature). I've done a few things with this fryer (shrimp poppers, hash browns, egg rolls and cheese sticks). The results were that everything took longer to cook than what is on the package or what I was used to. I know the manual has cooking times in it but it's a pain to keep it handy. What is GREAT about this fryer is how easy and neat it is to remove/strain the oil and clean out the unit, this works flawless. The amount of food you can do is also a minus, the basket is small and shallow (not tall) and the food has to be pushed to the outside for the rotation properties to cook the best. Now I'm not one to do an entire meal in the fryer so it's fine for Fries, etc. What would be ideal is this fryer, with all it's features minus the rotation part to allow for a bigger basket. I can deal with using a bit more oil. DeLonghi makes a lower model but doesn't have an adjustable thermostat ... a BIG minus. In my searches it appears to that DeLonghi used to make a model with all the features of the roto but minus the roto. That would be a 5 star model. All in all it's a good fryer, the cleaning feature is the best.
