Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of DeLonghi HHP1500 Mica Panel Radiator

Customer Review: warm & comfy
Summary: 5 Stars

We bought this for our trailer so we wouldn't have to rely on the propane heater all the time. It's quiet, (no fan so we can use it at night & not be woken up by the noise of a fan ) & it can be hung on a wall out of the way or placed closer to eating and/or sleeping space). Right now, it is set to heat just enough to keep things in our trailer from freezing. This is going to make winter camping much more comfy & more economical.

Customer Review: The best - for small ~ normal sized rooms
Summary: 5 Stars

I live in MA/NH area, right now our outside temp is: 20~40F. My interior temp is kept at 56~60F without this heater. For my small bedroom that measures 12' x 13' x 8' (150 sq.ft.), I only need this heater at low setting + #5 on the thermostat dial to maintain a comfortable temp of around 65~70F. For my office that measures 11' x 13' x 8' (140 sq.ft.), same thing. This heater is SILENT, so it's perfect for bedroom. But for my living room that measures 12' x 13' x 9' (150 sq.ft.) with open design (no closed door), this heater is insufficient. If your area is of open design with tall ceiling, use a heater w/ fan instead. But this thing is beautifully made. One big complaint is that DeLonghi chooses to use a huge sticker that leaves stubborn residue on the front, it took me well over 40 min. to get rid of that while assembly time was a mere 10 min., so lame, have they heard of easy-peel stickers that leave no/minimal residue? Also, check your local LOWES stores for this heater, cheaper & local pickup...

Customer Review: Not exactly as described
Summary: 3 Stars

Just received this heater and I already have a big gripe - maybe with Amazon. It is listed as having bathroom splash protection. I bought it specifically for my heat challenged powder room. However, the instructions say nothing about "splash protection". In fact, it states: "This heater is not intended for use in bathrooms, laundry areas..." Whaaaa?

Another complaint is that there's a big warning sticker on it about smell and poss. smoke when used for the first time and states that this sticker must be removed before using. OK.... The sticker is impossible to remove without leaving all the adhesive and backing paper on the heater. 30 minutes later, I was able to get it all off with my fingernails and candle wax remover. Aaarggg!

Other than that, the unit seems to work ok. As other people have stated, the grill does get hot.

However, I don't know if it's safe to use in my bathroom or should I return the unit.

Customer Review: DeLonghi Mica Heater
Summary: 5 Stars

I must say that this is the best heater that I have had so far. Prior to this I had a noisy ceramic blower, a radiant electric heater (quiet but dangerous) and this one. In my opinion, this radiator is quiet and extremely effective in heating my bedroom. At least I can sleep without the noise waking me up! The space saving design is another bonus. I am considering purchasing another one for another part of the house. Thank you DeLohngi!

Customer Review: Nice for sitting near
Summary: 5 Stars

We bought this heater to keep our legs warm while sitting at a desk. It is short enough to fit under the desk with a little clearance. On low, it is pleasant to sit near. The heater warms up quickly. The cord is of adequate length. The controls are simple and intuitive--no cheesy digital display. The unit is light, has wheels, and moves easily. It is silent and odor-free. There is no fan.
