Customer Review: More of a Bean Cracker Rather than Grinder

I bought this grinder about a year ago. Frustrating to use on several facets of function:
1.) Even on the Extra Fine Espresso grind selection the grounds are only suitable for use in a French press.
2.) Have to shake the unit in order for the beans to feed into the grinder.
3.) Grounds are tough to get out of the catch vessel of the grinder.
4.) Noisy.
Description of Delonghi DCG49 Burr Coffee Grinder
Dual safe system. Grind selector. Burr grinding wheels. Detachable upper grinding device. Transparent ground coffee container. One-touch operation with pulse.This versatile coffee grinder prepares beans for any method of coffee brewing. Three different grind settings offer a range of grinds from coarse for coffee percolators to medium for drip coffeemakers to fine for espresso makers. Whichever grind you prefer, the burr grinding wheels always produces grounds of a uniform texture. The transparent lid easily pops off to load the grinder with whole beans. A side button grinds up to 16 tablespoons of coffee into the transparent container below with either a constant or pulsing touch. The grounds container sticks a bit upon removal, but has a lift-off lid to keep grounds from spilling out while you are tugging at it. The upper grinding mechanism also detaches for easy cleaning. For safety, the grinding wheels stop if the grounds or whole bean containers are not in place. DeLonghi offers a one-year limited warranty on defects in materials and workmanship for this burr coffee grinder. --Cristina Vaamonde
